My House Officially Sold Today 🏡

My House Officially Sold Today 🏡

A sacred farewell to the place that raised me

☁️🌸☁️✨☁️🌙☁️✨☁️🌸☁️

Hi moonbeam~

Today, I write with a heart full of memories and misty eyes.

My house — the home that raised me, sheltered me, and shaped so much of who I am — has officially been sold.

It’s real now.

The keys will pass into new hands.

And all the love I’ve ever felt within these walls… now lives in my memory.

🍊 A Home That Held More Than Things

This wasn’t just a building. It was a living being.

My safe space. My creative cocoon. My childhood world.

From its warm orange walls to the fruit trees that filled our backyard with sweetness — guava, quince, lemon, lime, pomegranate, grapevines…

It gave to us. Nourished us. Protected us.

This house saw every version of me —

The little girl climbing the DK treehouse my dad built.

The teenager curled up in bed, dreaming of faraway places.

The young artist slowly finding her voice again.

It watched me grow.

🐾 Memories Etched Into the Walls

There is so much life in this house:

  • Family parties echoing with laughter
  • Cousins and aunts sleeping over
  • Birthdays, holidays, and home-cooked meals
  • The scent of guavas through open windows
  • My Uncle, who was like a second father to me
  • My cats Selena and Panther — my first beloved pets
  • Our doggies: Muñeca, Bobby, Shadow, and Mickey
  • The DK treehouse with a sign my cousin designed

This home didn’t just witness our memories…

It held them.

✨ The Final Goodbye

Letting go is never easy.

But today, I’m choosing to say thank you.

Thank you, sweet house, for your warmth.

For being strong.

For staying cozy even in your age.

For being our haven.

For the laughter and the tears.

For holding the people and pets I love.

And to the next family —

Please treat her kindly.

She’s not just a house. She’s a soul.

She deserves gentleness.

🌙 Carrying You With Me

Though I’m moving to a new state — from California to Texas —

I’m bringing everything you gave me.

The memories. The strength. The love.

The fruit trees are rooted in my heart.

The pets who napped in the sun still live in my dreams.

You were my first forever.

You’ll always be home.

With love, tears, and quiet thanks,

Chiisai Tsukiko aka Tiny Moonchild

5 Gentle Ways to Recover from Art Burnout (Without Pressure)

5 Gentle Ways to Recover from Art Burnout (Without Pressure)

Hi sweet starlight 🌙💖

Every artist — no matter how passionate or magical — has days where creativity just… disappears. It’s like the moonlight fades, and even your favorite brush doesn’t feel right anymore. When I feel this way, it’s not just frustration — it’s sadness, exhaustion, and sometimes even guilt.

But here’s the gentle truth I’ve learned:
Art burnout doesn’t make you any less of an artist.
It just means your heart needs time to rest, recharge, and feel safe again.

So today I want to share five of my softest, most comforting ways to reset my mood when burnout gently knocks at my door. ✨

☁️🌸☁️✨☁️🌙☁️✨☁️🌸☁️

1. I pause and make space for silence

Sometimes the kindest thing you can do… is nothing at all.
When I’m drained, I let myself stop without judgment. I close my iPad, light a candle, and just breathe. No pressure to sketch or produce. Just quiet. Giving myself that space invites softness back into my thoughts.

☁️🌸☁️✨☁️🌙☁️✨☁️🌸☁️

2. I listen to cozy music that matches my energy

Lofi beats. Soft jazz. Rainy piano.
Music always helps me feel less alone when my creative spark dims. I’ll sit in bed with headphones and imagine a character (like Chiisai) sitting beside me, drawing quietly. Sometimes it even brings me new ideas without trying. 💫

☁️🌸☁️✨☁️🌙☁️✨☁️🌸☁️

3. I reset my space gently

A cluttered space often adds to the overwhelm.
So I wipe my desk, tidy my pens, light some lavender incense, and fold my cozy blanket just right. These small rituals make me feel like I’m taking care of a soft creative sanctuary — one I want to return to. 🌸

☁️🌸☁️✨☁️🌙☁️✨☁️🌸☁️

4. I cuddle with my cats and let their world slow mine down

My cats are natural healers. They stretch, nap, roll over in the sunlight, and remind me that existing is enough. I’ll sit with Ariel or let Tomatito hug my face (yes, he does that 🥺) and just melt into their quiet rhythm. Their presence is magic.

☁️🌸☁️✨☁️🌙☁️✨☁️🌸☁️

5. I draw something just for me — even if no one sees it

Not every sketch needs to be shared or finished.
Sometimes I doodle a sleepy moon, a sparkly planner, or a soft cat floating in space — just for my own heart. It doesn’t need to be perfect. It just needs to make me smile.

☁️🌸☁️✨☁️🌙☁️✨☁️🌸☁️

🌙 Final Thoughts

If you’re in the middle of an art burnout, I want you to know this:
You are still an artist. Even when you rest. Even when you’re quiet. Even when you haven’t touched your tools in weeks.

Creativity isn’t a race — it’s a rhythm. And your rhythm deserves kindness. 💖

I hope one of these soft little resets brings warmth to your heart too.
If you have your own gentle ways of coping with burnout, I’d love to read about them in the comments. Let’s support each other — one pastel step at a time. 🌸

📚 My Favorite Art Books (and Cozy Courses!)

Tiny tools that helped me become the soft artist I am today

Hi starlight~
When I first picked up my iPad and started drawing again, I wasn’t sure where to begin. I felt rusty, overwhelmed, and a little unsure of my style.
But over time, I found comfort in flipping through art books, taking gentle online classes, and slowly creating my own cozy learning path.
These are the books and courses that helped me find joy, confidence, and sparkles in my art again — maybe they’ll help you too. ✨

🎀 Physical Books I Adore

Manga for the Beginner: Kawaii by Christopher Hart

📖 View on Amazon
This book taught me the joy of drawing soft characters with big eyes and even bigger personalities! It was one of the first books that made me feel excited to draw again — like I could turn my characters into something cute and wearable.

Manga for the Beginner: Chibis by Christopher Hart

📖 View on Amazon
This book helped me fall in love with chibi art. The way it explains poses, proportions, and little tricks for keeping everything expressive and tiny — it’s still a favorite when I’m planning sticker sets or OC doodles.

Manga for the Beginner: Shoujo by Christopher Hart

📖 View on Amazon
For magical girl vibes and sparkly eyes, this is the one! If you love Sailor Moon or Shugo Chara, this book will feel like a cozy dose of inspiration. It reminded me how much I adore emotional expressions and soft poses.

Manga for the Beginner: Midnight Monsters by Christopher Hart

📖 View on Amazon
This one speaks to my spooky-soft side. It’s filled with creepy-cute creatures, haunted fashion, and fun monster concepts. This book made me want to create a blend of dark kawaii — something I hope to bring to life in future illustrations!

Kawaii Doodle World by Pic Candle (a.k.a. Zainab Khan)

📖 View on Amazon

This book is pure pastel joy! It taught me how to simplify shapes, give charm to everyday objects, and embrace a cute art style without overthinking. It’s one of the first kawaii books I picked up, and it really inspired me to make stickers and chibi cats. 🐾

☁️🌸☁️✨☁️🌙☁️✨☁️🌸☁️

🧑‍💻 Online Courses I Love

Some days my wrist needed rest, or my mind just wanted a gentle spark. These courses helped me keep learning — even when I couldn’t draw.

💖 Free Kawaii Lessons by Tatyana Deniz

These were my very first kawaii guides — soft, sweet, and perfect for beginners. They taught me how to simplify shapes and draw things like hairstyles, food, and little animals in a way that felt natural and fun. Plus… they’re free!

✨ Domestika Courses (One-Time Purchase, No Subscription Needed)

I adore Domestika’s quality and structure. They helped me take everything I learned from books and apply it into storytelling, sticker designs, and magical scenes.

I revisit these often, especially when planning bigger creative projects like my blog layout or printable pages!

📚 Skillshare (Subscription-Based Courses)

Even though it requires a subscription, Skillshare has so many mini classes that helped me polish my anime-style art — especially things like hair, faces, coloring, and linework.

Perfect for bite-sized study sessions and weekend learning!

✨ Final Thoughts

Whether you’re just starting or restarting your art journey, don’t stress about where to begin. Just follow what brings you joy.

Books, free lessons, and bite-sized classes all helped me grow in different seasons of life.
And honestly? Even watching other artists create made me feel more connected to art again.

These tools shaped me — and maybe they’ll help shape you too.
Don’t be afraid to mix cozy with creepy, structured with silly. There’s no “right” way to learn art — only your way.
